Meet Melissa

Let’s hear it for Melissa Acosta, a rockstar marketer who just so happens to be Magneti’s newest Client Strategist!

She’s a fantastically talented communicator, collaborator, and account leader — but that’s not where her skills end. (No offense to the many friends of Magneti, but…if you ever find yourself up against her in a game of arcade basketball, our money’s on Melissa.)

We hope you have a blast getting to know her!

What drew you to Magneti?

I originally started an interview process with Jill for a different position, life happened, we got back in contact several months later and here I am! I could tell through the interview process how passionate this team was. It was so apparent how much kindness was living at Magneti. Very rare in a company!

What are three movies/TV shows you absolutely love? How about one you think is massively overrated? 🙂

I have my comfort shows that I rewatch yearly and I am scared to be judged but I guess I’ll bare my soul here…Gilmore Girls, This is Us, Desperate Housewives (not the reality show). Honorable mention…The Office. As far as movies go, I am a sucker for a Rom Com. 10 Things I Hate About You, Crazy, Stupid, Love, aaaaaand the entire Hunger Games series…don’t know if that’s cheating or not but hey life’s short. I don’t think I find anything overrated unfortunately. Probably because I generally enjoy anything mildly entertaining :/

It’s a sweltering Saturday (like, 110 degrees, mid-July, Texas-sized heat). What are you doing?

Immediately jumping in my pool with my kids. Side of watermelon, chips & queso, and maybe a spicy margarita.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Be patient with yourself, take risks, give others the benefit of the doubt as often as you can, and don’t be so eager to be a grown up.

What is your favorite part of marketing?

Every day is different. Mistakes can be made by even the most skilled marketer and you just have to keep keepin’ on. Exposure therapy for perfectionists (lol).

If you had one extra hour in the day, what would you do with it?

I would love to say something productive but honestly I’d love an extra hour in the day to do nothing with my family. We call ourselves the creatures of the living room because we love a good couch movie session, so I’d probably do that.

Favorite food? Unrelated, what is your opinion on kolaches?

Italian. There is something so perfect about a classic plate of spaghetti. You cannot convince me otherwise. Don’t get me started on kolaches. Love is an understatement. The one year I lived in New York and discovered nobody knows what they are was almost reason enough for me to move back. Also they don’t drink sweet tea over there?? Criminal.

Name one random talent you have that has no business on a stage.

I am diabolical at arcade basketball. Seriously, don’t know why or how but I have never met anyone that could beat me in arcade basketball. I’ll use my talents wisely though, promise.

Your future biography will be titled:

Kitchen Light: Portrait of A Mother

I can be heard saying the kitchen is the heart of any house. We all spend an abnormal amount of time in the kitchen at my house, whether we’re eating, dancing to the strategically placed Alexa, or just hanging out. It’s the hot spot of my place.
