World, meet Jackson, a brand new Marketing Manager at Magneti!
Jackson’s experience guiding marketing in all sorts of contexts, his charisma and charm, and his legendary dog Boomer are some of the many reasons we’re excited to announce that he’s joined our team!
What drew you to Magneti?
Three things drew me to Magneti: a holistic vision for marketing, an incredible culture, and amazing branding work. This is an agency that acts on deep insights and creates phenomenal work – in a creative and collaborative environment. Beyond those things, what really sealed the deal on Magneti is how much everyone is encouraged and empowered to grow and make a positive impact, both within our agency and with our clients.
Would you rather scuba dive or skydive?
I would love to learn to scuba dive, see amazing coral communities, and get to swim with sea turtles. Skydiving sounds like a blast, in theory, but I’m honestly okay doing that maybe once ever.
Name one unnecessary skill you believe you’ve mastered.
Cooking all kinds of proteins from lamb to fish in a skillet. I am an avid Top Chef fan and during COVID, I really wanted to become a better cook. I went from having to break a thermometer and sweat every second in the pan, to being able to judge done-ness from a press of my finger or spatula.
What song best describes your life?
This is such a loaded question. I could create an entire playlist for different parts of my life, but there’s one song that really speaks to journey, determination, and hustle. While it may not describe my life in a nutshell, Ten Thousand Hours by Macklemore is one of those songs that drives me and can give me a boost when my tank is empty.
If you were a superhero, what would your superpower and name be?
This is going to be somewhat contradictory to my earlier sentiment regarding jumping out of a plane, but the ability to fly would be amazing. The ability to access so many places, quickly and with ease, sounds amazing. I think my name would just be Jackson.
Coffee or tea?
While I love a good coffee, I love tea even more. There’s so much variety to tea from chai to authentic greens. Tea can be energizing, soothing, calming, or anything else you need it to be in the moment.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever been given?
Apart from the gift and joy of amazing parents whom I feel were gifted to me, in a way, my dog Boomer is by far the best gift I have ever received. He is such a joy in my life and a constant source of love, energy, pride, inspiration, and drive. Dogs truly are a man’s best friend.
If you could have a one-on-one dinner with any person, alive or dead, who would it be?
Wow. I had difficulty answering this question, but I went with someone whom I’ve looked up to for a long time: Eddie Jones. Eddie Jones is a professional rugby coach and the current head coach of the England national rugby team. He’s a masterclass in performance coaching, a global phenomenon, and probably has a mountain of stories to tell from a thousand locker rooms and pitches, the world over.
Got any bucket list items?
I absolutely do and a few of them are listed here, in no particular order:
- Get a ranch and ~10 more Bernese mountain dogs – location TBD, but I do love the Steamboat valley
- Go heli-skiing, at least once
- Own a brewery or restaurant
- Attend at least one rugby world cup (preferably in New Zealand)
- So much travel… but in my Top 5: New Zealand, Croatia, Columbia, South Africa, and Thailand
